How many people think nothing significant will ever be done about illegal immigration?

I have been through this before,in the 1960's in Miami.U.S.citizens just don't stick together, immigrants do.The stronger will prevails.The goverment looks for a workable solution,I.E. amnesty,in some form.If you complain,you are predjudice.Small fights and disagreement break out in schools,public places,no one supports the earlier citizens,YOU are the pariah.Complaining never helps ,you bitsh all day and the cavalry never shows up.Pretty soon they are in positions of authority.Now you are sunk.Time for YOU to migrate-LAST ONE OUT DON'T FORGET TO BRING THE FLAG!

The government isn't really looking for a solution. If they were then they would have done something years ago like putting armed US troops along the border. Just like the so-called drug wars, they could have done something about it long ago but haven't. Why? Because look at all the money, from OUR taxes, that they go and waste on different programs and ideas instead of tackling the real problem. I am all for putting a wall, fence, or whatever along our southern border. I am all for putting armed US troops along the border. I am all for shooting to kill anyone that is coming across the border illegal and refuses to halt when instructed to do so. Only extreme measures like this would make a difference. As for those illegals that are already here. I would say we give them 30 days to get out and then let the military gather them up for deportation. Hey we have a lot of military that aren't really doing anything so let's make them work for their pay. Any illegals have a problem with this, well tough this is my country and not yours. You were not invited here. You are a criminal and continually break our laws so leave. If anyone else doesn't like it, well I don't care because this is America and I have the right to say what I want. And no illegals should have NO rights since they are criminals!

I think that because of globalization and that New World Order stuff, it may not be too much longer until people can go wherever they want (provided all wars are over and done with).

I don't really like the idea of the world 'being as one' - it was nice to have individual nations, cultures, etc. In the near future, everyone will be the same - so what would even be the sense of vacationing in a different country? Already, many foreign countries have McDonald's, Disney, etc - might as well stay home to see that stuff.

I agree, its too little too late to really do much about all these immigrants here. We should make the most of the people we have here, weed out the bad ones, send them packing... and find a way to secure those borders, so we do not have this problem again in another 10-20 yrs.

I don't see any solutions besides building a 50 foot wall all the way around the United States. I am not against immigrants being here, i am currently dating one... but i am against the fact that we have way too many of them here. Come here legally and make the most of what america has to offer you... Be proud of both your home country and the one you are migrating to...

While I tend to agree with the President on many issues but, his noodle has slipped off the fork on this one. He could not be more wrong in his thinly veiled amnesty proposal.

If we indeed need some sort of guest worker program, I could live with that as long as each participant is registered and monitored. BUT there is NO LEGITIMATE REASON for such a program to be a path to citizenship. It should only be path to the job they are performing.

Rewarding people because they have gotten away with breaking the law for many years is moronic. Who in their right mind would apply that standard to any other criminal behavior. If someone has been a drug dealer for ten years and never gotten caught, but they used the proceeds of their drug sales to build a home and raise a family and put down roots in the community and they even joined the PTA, would we now tell them that it is OK and all is forgiven if they will just pay a couple of years back taxes and some fees and then in a few years they can have a completely clean slate? Not even the most Liberal judge in the country would go along with that one. Why then are we supposed to swallow this load of crap. Don't pee down my back and tell me it's raining!

The more that they come here the more they will eventually become a majority.

I think it will just continue happening, like it or not....

Besides, illegals overall help this economy, by providing cheap labor. Would you like to live in a European country like Sweden where taxes are over 50% due to high wages and little immigration? It all washes out in the end....

Because a majority of people within the United States are seeing this as a major issue and it is starting to have a negative effect upon more and more - I see it as having to be addressed. More and more people are just plain getting tired of the taxes that they pay being given away to people that are here illegally.

Money is tight. Because of that and more and more people feeling the pinch - I see it as being addressed or major problems within this country.

you know thats why we need to fight also, the liberals are against this immigration bill also. i know because i work for one, and everyone else her in our office is a liberal to the core, they all wright letter to the senator, make calls, and constanly participating in the protest in downtown. Its hard to work in an environment like this, but if you are a liberal also i respect u for ur thinking.
