I think they're just a very sharp flavor. It's so sharp that it's hard to define though.
I understand the painful part- I always have a stinging or buzzing sensation in my nose when I eat a radish.

I think that radishes have flavor. Just a light flavor with a little spice.

Fresh radishes should have a bite to them. Not only should they snap in your mouth, but also should have a unique (almost hot) taste.
Try grilling them with a bit of olive oil. Maybe that will change your mind.

they remind me of peper but really hot lol good in salid with lots of other stuf to drown out the radish flavor but just chop them thinly or use them with tequila instead of lime lol eat a radish after a shot :)

They can very by the variety and the soil they are planted in. This can change them from mild to very hot and spicy. I think if had a very hot radish, you would remember it had a taste to it.
