Please relate to this usage:
Agape received a broader usage under later Christian writers as the word that specifically denoted "Christian" love or "charity" (1 Corinthians 13:1–8). The New Testament provides a number of definitions and examples of agape, which generally expand on the meanings used in ancient texts, denoting brotherly love, love of one's spouse or children, and the love of God for all mankind.

Corinthians 13
The Excellence of Love
1If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

3And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does does not brag and is not arrogant,

I see love in three types, Eros, filial, and Agape. Eros is a romantic and or sexual love. Filial is a brother/sisterly friendship oriented love in which there is a platonic connection between those in this relationship. But Agape is entirely something different all together. It is not a love of condition or attachment. It does not chose whom and how much. It is a universal love of all beings. How does one go about such a feat? Obviously it is a product of a long trailed and sincere spiritual journey. It is one is which we must look deep within our hearts and see ourselves for who we are. Without being judgmental against the negative focus on the positive, feeding those thoughts and feelings with our attention. Some times it is hard to say how we do or feel something. It is an internal act of will that is at best hard to explain. But those of us who are open to such a way will find avenues to express and increase in such virtue.

Agape' is better described as principled love, like how God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten son on its behalf so that those who believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life; but, God's love for Abraham, for instance, was as a FRIEND, so God's love for him was special. I try to be kind & generous with others; plus, when possible, I share what I have learned about God's Kingdom just like Jesus and his followers did.

Simply practice love and compassion towards all you come in contact with...about as much as anyone can do.
