My mom will say that I cannot talk to a boy on the phone because she says it will lead to things that she doesn't want happening to me at such a young age. What if I avoided all of that? Why is she so concerned?

Cos shes your mom !! She has experienced much more than you have. Girls tend to get carried away at young ages and guys are just waiting for that. No matter how "cute" your guy is or how "different" he is, they all have one thing in common ----> Desire for a physical relationship.
Your mom cares about you, she loves you and most importantly she knows you and how naive you can be.I think you need to be a lil older to enter into a relationship with a guy. When you're older your mom will trust your maturity and allow you to take certain decisions. However, you must take her advice at all times cos shes one of the few people in the world who TRULY care about you and want whats best for you.

She is so concerned because she cares and she loves you and she knows what she is talking about she has already been where you have to go and probably been hurt and tricked at your age and she is just trying to save you from it. Listen to her because when he hurts you you are gonna need her shoulder to cry on remember that she will be there when he is long gone.

She is just protecting you! I know you must hate her for it but she loves you! My mom tells me to stay on the phone with my b/f for at lest 30 mins or less. If your on the phone for more than that then your acting to avabile! She must know what she is talking about or mabye she dosent want to get hurt. Two words Tough Love.

She was young once to darling. Stay young and enjoy your life you will have more years then you want someday to raise a baby and deal with a selfish man. Trust me on that. Right now is your time to find out who you are.

Your mom is just being protective. My dad was the same way and I didn't understand at the time, but I do now. If there is one guy inparticular, invite him over for dinner and let your mom meet and get to know him.

The age for teenage pregnancy is getting younger and younger every year!!!! So maybe she doesnt want you to have a kid just yet...she wants you to enjoy your life as a kid BUT maybe you need to talk to her and tell her you understand about the birds and the bees and tell her that she has nothing to worry about till you get married or what not....

I don't know your age. My daughter wanted to date at 14 and asked why she couldn't. That I didn't trust her. I replied, it's not YOU I don't trust, it's the boys hormones I don't.

Be careful and Mom usually knows best from her life as a teenager.

because believe it or not she knows things you do not, when you are young hormones get the best of you and they can cause you to things you never thought you would. Do not be in a hurry to grow up. you only get to be kid once.

Because she is protecting you. It depends on how old you are to understand everything.. Maybe introduce her to the guy you want to talk to.
