my mother never lets me do things like dye my hair the color i want it or go out with friends when i want. is she doing this to protect me?

she is doing such things to protect to. specially when she isn't allowing you to go out with your friends.

trust me i know how u feel a lot of people have. When a mother is that strict of course it's to protect u and trying to teach u something. Not allowing you to go out with your friends is because the streets now-a days are no way safe. There are a lot of crazy people out there who will want to hurt u and always letting you out is basically making u the target. just try and see it through her eyes and try and compromise with her on things that u want. There is no stronger love then the love that comes from a mother. So she's just trying to protect u.
When a mother loses her child in anyway, it feels like there is no reason to live etc... trust me when i say no parent wants to go through that traumatizing expierence. that's why they are strict. u'll understand when u have children.

I speak from experience when I say this. Your mother wants to protect you and keep you from destroying your life. She has probably made mistakes of her own in the past and is afraid that you will too. I know that we all need to make mistakes to learn but sometimes a mistake could ruin your life. She just loves you and maybe she goes overboard with it but she does it out of love and concern.

Your mother wants the best for you and is showing you the right path to take in life.I wouldnt let my 13yr dye her hair.If it was temporary,fine,but not permanent.Then you end up with all your roots showing,and if you bleach it,then it thins and ends up like cotton wool in later years.She doesnt want you mixing with the wrong crowd,or being badly influenced.She is a brilliant mum,you are lucky.I never had that.Try to understand where she is coming from.

in her own way she is trying to protect you from doing everything just cause your friends are doing it. She wants you to be your own person without depending on your friends so much. My mom was the same way.

My mother was the same way... I resented her for a long time, but now that I am older, I see that she WAS just trying to prtect me. Of course I did alot of things behind her back, but OF COURSE, I just got hurt in the long run... Listen to your mom, sooner or later, you will understand.

both...we do it to protect you because we love our kids,but there are time when we do it just to annoy you,it's like pay back when you kids did things to annoy us.but always remember no matter what we love our kids and we will protect them always!!
