I sometimes think of killing myself when I deal with life's suckyness

I can understand that, but I hope it's just a passing thought. It really does always get better eventually & you wonder why you had that thought...until the next time.

I think suicide is very selfish, though. The person who commits suicide doesn't think about the people they are leaving behind who sit around and go crazy blaming themselves for your selfish act.

I had a male friend who committed suicide several years ago because his exgirlfriend didn't show up at a place he told her to meet him. The poor girl showed up about five minutes too late. I guess he thought she wasn't going to come. Now SHE is the one who has to blame herself forever and be scarred by that incident even though she responded to his call.

Anyway, like I said, for you, I hope it's just a passing thought like I think everyone gets once in a while. If not seek help - not necessarily from a shrink - but a friend, family member - heck, even a pet. Write in a journal - there are many great ways to give yourself therapy without spending any money. Oh, and yes, I do think it is the ultimate sin - the ultimate selfish act.

Good luck - I hope you find some cool ways to cope with life's injustices - you're not alone.

Darlin' yes life does suck sometimes but what's to say that you, somewhere down the road, don't design, invent, build, create etc., something that actually causes some of this suckiness to end?

By committing suicide, which some do believe is a cardinal sin and some cemetaries actually will not allow a person known to have committed suicide to be buried alongside any of their other burial sites, you are depriving the world of something better.

You might only be one person, but one person can do alot to change things...regardless how small the change. Everyone has a purpose...you will find out what yours is and then, honestly, you will think back on those times you thought it better to leave all of us, and you'll be very thankful you didn't quit on yourself, your family, your friends.

If there is someone you can speak with about these feelings do so...you are worth a great deal more to the world alive than dead.

Take care and hang in there...

For what it's worth, I think it's perfectly natural to contemplate not only your own mortality, but taking your life into your own hands. We are a curious species.

I have to assume since you said 'sin' that you come from a Christian background. Technically, according to God's words, thinking about killing yourself is the same as actually doing it. Now granted, I'm paraphrasing from the adultery section of the New Testament.

But Christianity teaches that all life is sacred, and that ending any of it before it's natural, is a sin. But who's to say when that time is? Who's to say it's not god's hand moving you to take your own life?

I would highly recommend against it, because it is a VERY permanent solution to what is usually a temporary problem.

There are very few things in life that are worth killing yourself over. Broken heart? It'll mend. Lost job? Work sucks anyway. Family member dies? Keep their memory alive by living your life for them...

Does that help?

Come on man! You gotta think of things in the long term. It may suck now, but later you will find some pleasure in life...and even if its small, you'll miss it if you quit to soon. Besides death comes to everyone in the end, why go through the trouble when time is just gonna do it for you anyway. You should read John Barth's The Floating Opera, it has an interesting take on suicidal depression.

As a psychological health specialist with 20+ years adventure, now retired, and as a lifelong Roman Catholic, i visit inform you that i have consistently heard from the Church that suicide is a sin, yet, on condition that i have been lower than the most lively Roman Catholic, i'm no longer certain what the Church's stance on that's now. I undergo in ideas it being pronounced that it became a sin with the aid of the undeniable fact that became the merely right desperation and giving-up on God's way of having you by difficult circumstances. i visit claim, besides the undeniable fact that, that, as a psychological health specialist and having worked with those who did change into suicidal through the years, and back, as a prayerful Roman Catholic, I truly have come to trust that even if it really is a sin, that is not any longer a Mortal sin, particularly a Venial (smaller) sin, and extremely forgiveable by utilizing God. God forgive me if i'm incorrect, yet, that's merely what i have come to trust over my years contained in the career, and in prayer. My greatest concern with suicide is what that does to those you "go away in the back of", even if you imagine there is all people who cares about you or no longer. back, i don't think of God will condemn you always, yet I do ask your self if it would not deceive and confuse, and per chance heavily sadden and depress those round you who do love you dearly, even besides the undeniable fact that at any given time you would no longer "sense" that love. i comprehend that, as man or woman who has experienced distinct and extreme "close to-lack of life" memories, jointly with being run over by utilizing a custom, those I go away in the back of, maximum truly my spouse, 2 children of their 20's now, mom, sisters, nuclear relations and acquaintances, will be truly "shook-up" if I died, pretty by utilizing suicide, or perhaps besides the undeniable fact that i do not evaluate myself "each and absolutely everyone particular" , i'm nonetheless right here, for better or worse. i am hoping you could understand what i'm keeping. God Bless you.

When did the term 'emo' become a state of mind and not a type of music? Anyways...its not a sin, a sin would be in doing it. You should look for help if this happens often before you make a bad decision.

Yes, "You shall not commit murder" is the 6th Commandment. Jesus said that He will judge the thoughts and intentions of our heart. When we have thoughts of murderer, that makes us murderers at heart. If you commit murder and stand before God, do you think you'd be innocent or guilty of keeping his commandments? If guilty, should he send you to heaven or hell? Bro, i'm more concerned about where you would spend eternity if you did kill yourself. If you died, are you 100% you'd spend eternity in heaven? Life is short and will suck for a time, but eternity is forever. Where are you looking forward to spending your life eternally? I hope to see you in heaven one day.

Thinking and doing are different. If you feel like doing it a lot, I suggest a therapist and get into the Bible. Ask for God's help.
