I'd knock him in the head, because obviously he would have gone insane. We are just getting on our feet from when our son spent a month in the NICU, we can't afford to help ourselves, let anyone anyone else right now.
Now if this were a couple of years down the road, and we were in a position where we could still financially support our family after the donation, then I'd be all for it. I'm 100% for donating to charites and doing volunteer work.

Well, it would depend on if i needed the money or not. If i was really poor, or just needed the money for food, i wouldn't. But if i was rich, and had enough money, i would give the money.

Uh, tell him we have to pay the electric bill and we have no money.
But if we did have money, I'd sit him down and discuss his reasons and look at our full financial portfolio before acting.

I would tell her I appreciate her enthusiam and ask her to make it work in the budget and show me. If there is not a viable solution I would offer the suggestion that maybe we should get off our asses and do volunteer work in the evenings and weekends.

I'd ONLY do that if it left my family enough to live on and keep us happy. Otherwise I do try and give what I can.

i'd let them, since it's their money. they can do what they want with it. there's no use stopping them.

I would ask, "Don't you think this should be a joint decision? We are in this together, you know."
