no. I'm very concerned about this type of technology because it IS here just waiting to be implemented , but i think it is dangerous. before long all people would have tracking devices implanted so that your whereabouts could always be known. that's scary. it would of course start with a good sounding reason...like as a solution to identity theft but the result would be disastrous. at the risk of being called a conspiracy nut, i do think that this may very well be the "mark of the beast" from revelation without which no one will be able to buy of sell. no thanks..not for me or mine..i would fight any such attempt to institute this practice.

They wouldn;t actually have to be injected or implanted with a tracking device. They could have the tracking device (like a computer chip) put into thier dog tags. I know this does give an enemy the opportunity to remove thier tags, if the enemy knew.
Many people have answered this question by saying no. One person said what if the enemey created a tarcking device to detect the inplant. I say this to everyone and especially to him.
If a person can create a virus that could be implanted in a bar code so that when you scan the code it infects your computer, why could the military not do the same thing. Create an Identity chip that "hides" itself should the enemey create a divice by which to detect it. Or give the detection device a virus. In this day and age of technology it certainly could be done and safely to the soldier and be stealthed from the enemy.
So in answer to your question yes I think that would be a great idea.

I think that would be a great Idea. If they get captured or kidnapped by rebel forces (al-qaida) they could be found easy. Then the US troops can go storm in and rescue them and at the same time find where the rebels are hiding and then eradicate all of them.
I think this will prevent people from being beheaded.
By the way, some high ranckin people do carry tracking devices on their persons.

The danger in implanting tracking devices in our soldiers is initially the health risk of the procedure. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, should the enemy ever figure out how to detect the tracking devices were they would know exactly where each and every soldier was. This would seem to pose a greater risk strategically than benefit.

They could put in a tracking devise as small as a pin head. cutting off an arm isn't going to stop it from signaling. If I were over there I sure as heck would take one if offered. I can't imagine anything worse than being captured by those animals and not knowing if I would be found or not. They can have them removed when they come back.

If You have a cell Phone you can be tracked. I think in battle it could be a positive and a negative . You could quickly find a soldier that is kidnapped but if the enemy got a hold of the locations of our troops it could make attacks easier

Bad idea it would be an experiment that would lead to civilians being next. They would then start claiming what a great safety device it is for parents to keep track of their kids. Knowing all those frightened people out there, they would fall for it. It would be a better idea if our troops were pulled out of there period end of story. You make some good points, It would give you, or at least your families, more security knowing that you could be found. But on the other hand, It would only make sense that If we can track them, they would probably show up on enemy radar or such.
