Go to Amazon.com and search in the "Music Downloads" section. A lot of artists make a few tracks available for free downloads. Also check the websites of your favorite artists.

And sometimes Itunes music store has a free download of the week. But other than that, I don't think music downloads are free...nothing in life is free!

As those before me have said, LimeWire is good. Another option is BitTorrent and its related programs.
According to some, any music that you come across is free to download and that the illegal part is uploading. So if/when you install a P2P filesharing program, be sure to block the 'upload' part of the program.

There is no way to LEGALLY get music free.


If you want to get music anyway, check out limewire. I'd post a link, but i believe its against the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

There is no way unless the artist is giving the music free. Check out download.com. They have top songs for free there.

download limewire, it is free because it has sponsored results.
