why do people talk on cell phones while driving?

People tend to be overconfident. As such they end up ignorant of the dangers of using a cell phone while driving. They feel they know it all already. They simply do not appreciate the danger because they have done it before and nothing happened. They also see others doing it so it can't be that dangerous. Unfortunately, statistics proves they are wrong.

Sometimes, it is really difficult to get people to change their habits!

because they are COMPLETELY confident in their ability to multi-task while driving.

a little thing like talking on the cell while driving DOES NOT COMPROMISE THEIR ABILITY TO DRIVE defensively, react quickly to avoid accident or injury, ... in fact, DRIVING IS BORING! why not drive and talk to a friend or family member and get caught up? it's killing two birds w/ one stone.

...and what if i miss something important? i mean, I got a cell so that people can get a hold of me. I'M THAT IMPORTANT & MY PEOPLE WHO CALL ME ARE THAT IMPORTANT, TOO! everyone and everything is soooo important, a cell is fastly being used as people's "main line"!

ggggeeeeezzzzz.... people are already being forced to where seat belts and get car insurance for pete's sake! don't take away a person's right to free speech while driving!
