What would you do if he was a baby, instead of a puppy?
Get him to the vet as soon as you can. These things are much easier to treat if caught early.

Okay, get him to the vet. Hope that it is something just as simple as hook worms, tape worms or round worms. They will to a fecal to test. Those are also the signs of parvo, which is deadly, so you need to act immediately. A vaccination can take up to 10 days before it takes full effect, and he could have been exposed earlier to the parvo. Parvo takes up to 12 days to show up. And parvo has a very distinct smell to it in the poop. Run, don't walk to your vet. Call first and tell them that you think the dog may have parvo, as they will want to isolate him as soon as you come in the office - it's very contagious.

It may be due to the change of food of what he was eating to what you are feeding. I recommend no food small amount of water only for 24 hours. Then feed a smaller amount then usual of his food and see if it stays down and the stool appears to be more normal looking. As for the vaccinations, I'd hold off until I get the vomiting and stools under control first. If that doesnt work you can try a diet of white rice, low fat cottage cheese with bran (the kind you use in making muffins) for 3 days and then try the small amount of food as I said before to see if that makes a difference. If neither one works then you should have some lab work (blood test, stool smaple etc done). If your dog is already scheduled for an appointment for vaccinations us it to address this problem instead and let your vet know before he does anything about this problem.
I work for a vet and this is what we would recommend first and for most. You may want to try Hill Canine i/d for his diet if the problem reoccures

Call the vet, if he has stopped eating he may have a blockage of some sort. Depending on the age, when i took care of puppies with bad poops I would fast them for 12-24 hours and feed them a little bit at a time after that. If he starts to dehydrate call the vet ASAP, then he has something really bad going on.

If your puppy is not eating and vomiting you should take him or her to the vet. there are so many differnt problems that your puppy could be having. Your vet is the only proper person to deal with this problem. If you wait too long the sickness could lead to much worse situation. You can call the vet that gave your puppy the shot and tell them the symptoms and they may be alble to advise you over the phone. Hope your pup is ok!! Eva

it could be something as simple as he has worms, and your vet did not worm him. it could be parvo which is a very serious virus and needs to be seen immediately, if not he could die. i have boxer's and sometimes they just go out and eat there own poop which will also cause them to throw up and have a foul smell. him drinking is a good thing, but i would be more worried that he has eaten something that has got stuck. you should not wait till you appointment i would go right now could be life or death

If he doesnt stop throwing up or pooping after two days of taking the medicines i advice u take him to the vet immediatley. Good Luck! hope it works

Try taking him to the vet first to be on the safe side. And if the vet doesnt find anything wrong with it then try it your way. It could be parasites.
