They sell wormer at any dept. store or grocery store. Your dog has worms and it can be cured with the wormer. Just follow the directions on the box.

Little white worms that look like rice, are Tape worms and what you are seeing is the egg sacks. You need to take your dog to the Vet as soon as possible for medication. There is nothing over the counter that will get rid of Tapes, I don't care what the box says. Your dog can become very sick from this if left un treated.

Regular wormers will not kill tape worm.
They only kill hook and round worms which you cannot see.

Tapeworms can be seen. They are usually about 1 1/2 inches long coming out of the dog and immediately start to shrivel down to the size of a grain of rice when dry. What you are seeing is the egg sack of the tapeworm. Praziquantel is the otc version of what the vet uses. Most larger pet stores carry this. I get mine from www.jefferspet.com . It works! I've used it on many of our rescues.

None that safely work. The best bet is to go to a local vet- the medication for the worms is normally around $5. Whatever u do, dont leave this conditon untreated!

yes, there are some OTC de-worming treatments you can buy at stores like PetCo or PetSmart. Remember you will probably get what you pay for so try not to skim, especially if your dog already shows the worms in its feces.

I hope you like boiled shrimp. After you eat the shrimp, your puppy will enjoy the shrimp shells and shrimp tails, which act as a vermifuge but won't hurt your dog. If the infestation is bad, you may have to repeat the shrimp shell treatment every two weeks or so. If this doesn't work, get a veterinarians help, then use the shrimp shells to prevent reinfestation.

If they look like grains of rice then they are tapeworms, caused by ingesting fleas. Your dog obviously has fleas too. There are no "home remedies" that I know of, just go to the wal mart and buy some wormer, read on the box and make sure it is for tapeworms. Then get your dog some flea controll.

I have tried dewormer from my local feed store and ended up going to the vet anyway! don't waste your money. Does he have fleas? Dogs get worms from swallowing fleas, get Front Line or such from you vet to fix the problem, not the result (the worms). You should have your dog checked for worms yearly anyway!
Good Luck!

Its definitely tapeworms. Usually they are unnoticed, but your dog must have a bad case of them. A LONG time ago, people used purgatives to "flush" the tapeworms out. But that was often ineffective. To get rid of the tapeworms, you need to go to the vet and get a modern medication. New medications cause tapeworms to lose their protective layer and then they are simply digested. To get rid of the tapeworms, get a prescription for Droncit® or another tapeworm medication.

No. That's what worming pills are for, and they're cheap. Go to the store or a vet's, pick up some Vermiplex or similar, check his weight, and feed them to him according to the instructions.
