So she actually said 'I'm bored?'
Bring home another cat and she will probably get jealous and say 'I hate you now".

Think long and hard. What if your new cat never accepts the new one? They might be fighting all the time or maybe they might get along just fine. I had a cat for a year and then I brought a stray home. The stray cat was aggressive towards my cat but after a few days, they got along just fine. It's up to you. I have a video of them in youtube.com if you want to see them in action. Both of them are so cute. You can find my videos by searching art2068. God bless, Art.

You should get her another kitten! They will still feel important because they are the oldest. I had about a 2 year old cat, and we got him a little girl kitten. Before that, he hardly ever ran around or played with me like he did when we first got him. Now that we have a second cat, they always play together. It's good for them to have play mates. My older cat plays and runs around a lot more often now. Best wishes!

Seriously, Another cat is not going to occupy a 4 yr old cat's time. I was in the same situation, got another cat, fell in love with the new kitten then had to give it back to the adoption people because it kept attacking our 1st cat. Try to introduce your present cat to other cats first to see how it acts. If it hides, hisses continually or even attacks then you know another cat is not the answer.

Well your cat may need a friend so try getting another cat but make sure that she doesnt try to attack her or anything, because that would mean she never wanted a friend in the first place. if that happens that means she wants attention so try buying her toys and playing with her for a bout half a hour each day.

Do you have room in your home for another cat? Are you ready to Litter train another cat? You need to be there for the first day to help w/ transitioning w/ your kitty. As for litter training(and don"t laugh) bring a new turd from new kitty and put in litter box. Beleive it or not I have had cats not know they could use the other cats box till the smelled their own poop. This also helps them get along w/ the other cat also.gl

When my mother adds a cat it usually has more to do with her being bored than the cat. Does your cat like other cats? One of my cats absolutely hated (but tolerated) the other cat that we adopted. I always felt a little bad about that.
Also, this sounds absolutely bats, but they have videos that cats like. Even regular nature shows like on discovery or travel channel, or animal planet, will sometimes pique the cats interest.

You should always have a minimum of 2 cats...be sure to adopt a kitten as your 4 yr. old is the queen of the house and will accept a kitten much better than another adult cat.

Yeah! Get a kitten. That way, she can still be the Queen Kitty. My 7 year old cat mothers my 4yr and 2 yr old cats.

Definately! There will be an ajustment period for your cat, but it will end up being healthier, play time, more affectionate, and you'll reap the cuteness reward when they snuggle together. Plus 2 cats aren't much more fuss, or expense than 1.

Yes. but get a cat that is about the same age (is use to other cats) or a younger cat (a kitty) so she can still be the boss. but make sure that cats are spayed/nuetered so you wont have more than 2 cats. or get a female
