I booked a flight through a travel agency and paid for the ticket on last wednesday but still have not recieved a ticket and I am supposed to fly out next Wednesday. Does it usually take this long? My flight is international.

If its a paper ticket, you have to wait until they receive the ticket from their printer or the airline. Most places are paperless and are on all electronic tickets. It sometimes takes longer than 2 weeks to receive the ticket, but it will be up to them to get the ticket to you. You should receive it with in 24 hours of your departure at the latest. You still have a week, so dont sweat until Monday.

Next time you book with a travel agency, ask them if the destination is paperless this way you dont have to worry about receiving a paper ticket.

If its electronic, you wont receive anything, nor do you need it. You will need the receipt and confirmation for your records, but all you will need otherwise is the confirmation number and itinerary. All you will do then is check in at the ticket counter to get your boarding pass, you wont have a ticket...its all electronic. A ticket is different than a boarding pass. Again, most tickets are paperless or commonly called electronic (E-Ticket). So verify with the agency if it is an e-ticket or a paper ticket, there is a difference. A paper ticket you can not travel with out, that is essentially money in hand. An E-ticket you need nothing for.

You should call the agency and confirm that you are actually supposed to receive a ticket. Most airlines only issue electronic tickets now, so you just get a paper to printout and bring with you to the airport.

Call the agency and ask them if you should get a ticket or just a confirmation. And inform them that you haven't received anything yet.

Most ticets are now issued electronically and are available at the airline's check in counter. Ask your agency if this is possible and to e-mail you a confirmation code and proof of payment.
