He is sooo cute and I know he would do well. Everyone I come into contact with talks about how pretty he is. I just have no idea where to start, and I am not financially able to put a lot of money into it.

Let me point out that the question was not "How do I raise my son based on your standards or what you believe?" If you can't answer the question that I asked, don't waste your time.

Be certain the Agency is reputable and comes highly recommended. Check the references, check the clients if the agency website lists some of the clients they work with. A reputable agency will have an office presence, internet presence (usually), have local clients as well as national or international (depending on how big the agency is). The models should be available to speak with you at the office of the Agency if you request. Any contact with the Agency should be returned withiin 2 days max. Repeated contact by you may signal problems down the road. Watch out for those advertised in things like teen mags, TV etc that promise to do things that really only happen if you are willing to fork out money and worse, they are claiming to be a Modelling firm yet are nothing more than a school that ends up the winner.

Further, be absolutely positive this is definitely what your child wants to do. Getting your child into modelling with some Agencies is a whole lot easier than getting them out.

Read ANY contractual information carefully and ensure you are fully agreeable with every clause. Anything you aren't comfortable with, don't understand or don't agree with...voice your concerns before any pen touches the dotted line.

Any reputable agency will not charge for portfolio's (at least not the ones I've been in touch with). If there are certain photos you want of your child or your child wants over and above what the agency requires...there may very well be an additional fee for this but nothing in the exhorbitant range of hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Reputable agencies don't have you pay them to model, they pay you.

If in doubt...at all...have someone in the legal business if you know someone (going to a university even where law students are training can assist for zero dollars or minimal fees), is far better than getting yourself and your child into something you really end up regretting.

All the best, and good luck to your son if this is what he is truly after.

Your chances of success are so small and the time you will have to spend schlepping around to auditions, the money for pictures, clothes, etc., just does not make it worth it if you can't afford it. I tried and gave up quick because it sucked, auditions are packed with people who think their baby is the cutest and I witnessed some pretty disturbing stage parenting/child pimping. I soon realized it was a bad idea and not for us. It was a total waste of time and money. Just enjoy your child now, soon enough he will be a teenager and not so cute.

If people are telling you your son is pretty then you have problems.

People just say that to be nice, do your child a favor and dont get them into modeling....I feel sorry for your son. Be a mother not an agent

Contact an agency. You will probably have to pay for head shots and pictures.
