I need to find a new home for my hound. He is a Mountain Cur and a Redbone mix. He just needs more room to run and play. He will be a year old on July 4th. I need a rescue place for him because I don't want him taken to the pound. I can't see him being put down, because of my mistake.

We have a female red-bone mix! Wish we could rescue your male. We got this female from the local pound, and she's a doll. Of course, not all dogs are so fortunate to be rescued from there.

Advertise in your local paper, call your vets in your area, and put up pictures and information about your dog everywhere! Advertise, advertise and advertise!

Make sure all his shots are current and he's been neutered. It will make adopting him out that much easier for you. Good Luck. (Poor doggie)

Check with area search and rescue units - see if someone is looking for a prospect. Papers aren't needed for that. If he has a high play drive it'd put that nose to good use. Find a contact in your area - might have to contact the police dept. It's worth asking.
