Are you asking for a tactful way to start the conversation? If so, just say "You know, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I think we're ready to start a family. What do you think?"
If you're asking because you don't know how he feels about that, they you should work on establishing better commucations with him before even thinking about having a baby. If you think it's difficult to communicate now, it will be harder once baby is here. After all, both of you will be bringing your baby up.

There is no way to tell him that without coming out and saying it. If ya'll have a strong relationship that should be something that ya'll can talk about openly and if not you may want to evaluate your relationship and decide what is more important to you being with him or having a baby.

well I would just tell him that you want a baby and see what he says he may suprise you or just have sex and dont use protection and when you do end up pregnant he will wonder how when you used protection then you will have to lie and say the protection was falty so I would just come out and tell the truth itis better in the end

Tie his shoe laces together first so when you tell him and he tries to run away fast he will trip and then you can jump right on top of him. He can't say no then.
