I am no professional in this but the weather can contribute to mild cases of depression, and in particular during a low pressure experience. When it is sunny and a great day you will have a tendency to feel better. If you are depressed or going through the cycle of the loss of a Loved one, it will pass eventually as long as you give it a nudge every now and then and don't dwell on the negative....I am not sure the loss of your partner meant a split up or a death...but none the less the feelings are similar....move forward...onward and upward....there never is an ill wind that blows, that some good does not come of it.......GOOD LUCK TO YOU

There is a form of depression that is worse when the weather is bad. I can't recall the name of it, but I do no it exists. I agree with the previous answer, after so much time has passed and you still feel this way, then it is time to see a DR.

It is possible to be sad without being depressed.
From what you say, though, you have a form of weather-linked depression. There is actual research to back the existence of this condition up.
Try getting more sunshine, and use lights in the house that imitate the same spectrum of light that the sun emits. You should start to feel much better.
Good luck!

sadness is not a form of depression. It is normal to feel sadness. The problem nowadays is that when someone doesn't feel Happy all the time, they think they're depressed. Also, the weather does that to a lot of people. Good luck.

any feeling of sadness that lasts more then 2 weeks is considered depression. please seek professional help... being sad is a normal human emotion... it's healthy to feel sad once in a while because you appreciate happiness... but extended periods of sadness indicate you are now in a phase of suffering and depression... suffering is not healthy... depression is not healthy.
you can learn to be sad without the suffering and depression thru therapy and patience.
good luck and hang in there

this type of depression is called reactive depression and consult a psychiatrist he will relieve you of this depression. every person will have to die and some people die early. you can come out of this state by doing things which were liked by your life partner.and by doing some social service.i hope you will certainly come out of this sad state.weather and depression are not in any way related. your mind is conditioned to get depressed when weather is bad

Depression, seems to run on a scale.
I have perceived it in myself as 'toxic' preventing all my attempts at getting help.
I was lucky.
I now feel better than 'ok' most of the time. Sometimes I feel wonderful, and I emphatically suggest that that is most peoples birthright.
