A lot of Christians will be a part of this crowd.

Mat 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
Mat 7:14 "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Mat 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Mat 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Mat 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
wake up time! no second chances those who believe in eternal security think about it.

The Bible tells us to test ourselves to make sure we are in the faith.

2 Cor. 13:5 (NKJV)
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified.
_____
You are correct, some will be surprised that Jesus never knew them.

I see plenty of people proclaim with their mouth that they believe in Jesus.

If there life never changes and they continue living just like they did before they "became" a Christian, then I have serious doubts.

If they don't know the Bible and never really study it...then I wonder about them.

There are a few at my church that are faithful in church attendance but don't seem to get it.

What can you do? Just preach the gospel and hope God opens their eyes because no human can make them see or understand the truth.

You neglected to quote the rest of Matthew 7:

Matthew 7: 24- 27. Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? (NIV)

Jesus said that no man comes to the Father except by him (Jesus). I have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I know where I am spending eternity.

Check that fourth verse. It's the people who go around asserting that they speak for God, that when they treat other people badly it's because God told them to, and that they aren't judging people, they're just beating them up because GOD said they should -- those are the ones who'll be surprised (though they shouldn't) when the trapdoor opens under where they're standing. Why should God want to surround himself with a bunch of mean, self-righteous jerks?

I know that I won't be one of them!...because I have respect for GOD'S Word and I live by GOD'S Word!.....I enjoy serving the Lord!...I like the believer's life better than I liked my former heathen life before I received the Lord!.....

As Holy Mother Church has taught, it is not enough merely to believe in Jesus. You MUST SHOW that belief in your life, through your works, your prayers, your actions, your words, your very thoughts. See James' Epistle to the Hebrews.

Oh, and on Matt.,7:22; they can SAY anything they want, but show me the miracles AND the FULFILLED and ACCURATE prophecies. THAT they cannot do, these self-righteous types who say belief is sufficient unto itself. For faith without works is DEAD, DEAD, DEAD. And the dead in spirit are not living. Period.

That is why Paul gave us a warning in some of his letters to the churches and people. We have to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. We need to keep ourselves accountable in our actions, thoughts and words. We need to be concerned about ourselves, then others.

If we don't then we very well become part of that larger group.

It's one thing to know about Christ, it's another to know Him.
There are many "religious" people who know about Jesus,
There are less who have come to know Him personally.
He is a living God, who wants to join and interact with us.
It's those who have this relationship that have eternal security.
The Holy Spirit is both sign and seal of this relationship with him.

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Romans 8:16

When we become Christians we receive the Holy Spirit who gives us an assurance that we are right with God. So how do I know that I am saved? The Holy Spirit tells me so!

You first have to except Jesus into your life by confessing that you believe in him with all your heart, and ask to be forgiven of your sins before man then you have to follow his path and teachings for no one gets to the Father except by the son.

If you want eternal security, the you MUST OBEY GOD, not just give Him lip service. The Bible tells us exactly what happens to us when we die! We GO TO THE GRAVE, and do where else, we know nothing, we do nothing, we feel nothing.
