Because they were... bad somehow?
How are they worse people than here in North America?
By your rational, 9/11 was Allah's punishment on Americans for thier lousy foreign policy.
That's what happens when you step on that slippery slope...

The tsunami was caused by the American government in a test run of thier new HAARP weapon. HAARP, or High-frequency Active Aural Research Project, is a technically difficult program to discuss with non-scientists and, as such, it has eluded the spotlight of the popular press. In addition, HAARP has been maintained partially as a clandestine project, operated by the US Navy. The information that is made available to the public is carefully worded to make HAARP appear as a bland, harmless, unclassified, atmospheric research facility.
HAARP is a research program based in Alaska to "study the ionosphere" and aurora effects in the atmosphere. It's run jointly by the Air Force and the Navy. If you're wondering why the Air Force and the Navy care about aurorae, you're not the only one.
Basically, it pumps massive high-frequency directional broadcasts into the air for the purpose of heating the ionosphere. Yes, that's right — it's blasting electromagnetic radiation into the sky to "microwave" the outer layer atmosphere. This can cause all sorts of different effects on earth, and if aimed correctly can trigger an earthquake. The earthquake that was triggered just happened to set off a tsunami.

Well, the Bible says in Matthew 24 and Revelation that just before his second coming there will disasters, violence, men's heart being more wicked and selfish. It's not God's fault, satan caused it but God allowed it to happen. Satan wants to kill us and our only safety His in God. Prophecy must fulfill and when we see these things happening it should remind us that His coming is imminent and we should get right with God. To die on earth is not as bad as dying and going to hell.

No, I think it was Satan that did it and not God. Could God have stopped it? Yes. Why did He not? I do not know, I can not search the unsearchable mind of God.

We have been Shielded from God's Judgment and Wrath that is to Come. At the cross, Jesus took upon Himself God's divine judgment and God's divine wrath that we deserve so that we would be shielded from God's judgment and His wrath. At the end of this age, God's judgment and wrath will be poured out on all those that do not love the Lord. All those that have rejected God's love through Jesus and His powerful work on the cross will experience the judgment and the wrath of God that is to come. Those that have freely accepted God's love through Jesus and His powerful work on the cross will be raptured from earth prior to God's judgment and wrath being poured out.
Many People of Our Day have a Confused Understanding of God.
Many today believe that God is just waiting for us to mess up so He can pour out judgment. They live in fear and they teach fear to others in believing that everything bad that happens is God's judgment being poured out. They tie every disaster that happens to the judgment of God. There are consequences of sin that we bring on ourselves, but God is not pouring out His judgment on us.
These people are still living under the old covenant instead of the new covenant. They are confused because they do not understand what God did for us at the cross. At the cross, Jesus took our sin upon Him. At the cross, Jesus shielded us from God's perfect justice and His wrath. At the cross, Jesus took our punishment. Beloved, it is at the cross we see a loving God drawing lost people to Himself. Since the cross we have been living under God's grace. God's heart is that all be saved and come to him before the end of the age. This age of grace is quickly coming to a close. At the end of the age, those found in Christ will be raptured. The beloved will be air lifted out of this world. Then God's perfect justice and His wrath will be poured out on a world that has rejected Jesus and what He did for us on the cross.
Draw Close to the Cross. Beloved we must draw close to the cross. Cling to the simplicity of the cross. Realize and believe everything that God did for you at the cross. Refuse to live in fear. Decide to live in total victory through Jesus. Remember God's Word that says (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV) "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." And always remember the cross. Remembering the cross will help you keep perspective no matter what comes your way!
