The best bird trap that you'll ever need is #1 a bird feeder, #2 a bird bath. If you're even more adventurous a small bird house on a post with dowels coming out. If you like humming birds then a sugar water feeder. These kind of traps as you call them will attrack them and you can take pictures of them in their natural state and habitat. All this in your back yard of course. You'd be surprized how many species you'll attract. Bird food at Walmart for wild birds. real cheap. Have seen all kinds in my back yard. Robins, Orioles, reg. sparrows, bobwhites it's endless when you feed them.

You dont even need a bird trap. Simply throw some bird seed out in the area you want to take pictures in and let the bird come to it taking a picture of it while it is free and eating the seed you threw out there.
Now if you ever find a parrot bird get a 2 story cage, place food in the bottum of the cage leaving the top story door open, and wait until the bird goes inside the top story door and down stairs to eat, then slowly come out and close the top story door, thus traping the parrot inside. This tactic will kill a normal wild bird but a loose parrot bird it wont, I have caught 2 yellow cockatiels this way in my own back yard.

You don't need to trap a bird to take it's photo! That is just ridiculous! Try a camera with a zoom! Also, trapping any wild bird is illegal.

What you're trying to do is wrong. Don't try to capture a wild bird. You could injure it in the process. Also wild birds can carry disease. Leave it alone and find another hobby.

There's no such thing as a good bird trap. Try building a bird table to entice them and then photgraph them.
