My sister is getting married in Oct. and I'm the maide of honor, so I have about three and a half month left to go. Is there any safe way to loose the extra pounds that I gained without hurting my milk production? What's your advice

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:
The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume
You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising
If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories
But you should always eat
If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much
Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball
So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits
Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full
so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore

ALSO....
i found this artical called "50 Habits of "Naturally Thin" People
How to get Started:Decide how much you want to loose and see how many calories a day it will take to make it happen by year's end. Then, work into your routines however many of these eating tweaks and exercises you need to achieve your goal.
Slash 250 cal.s a day to lose about 25 lbs. in a year, Slash 500 cal.s to loose 50 pounds.
This is based on a 150-pound person: you may need to cut more/ fewer calories depending on ur weight, age & gender. It also assumes your normal calorie intake essentially stays the same and your weight is stable.

A: Hooray for you! You will never regret the experience of breastfeeding and the intimacy you've experienced with your baby as well as the health benefits. A new study suggests that breast fed babies learn more quickly than those who are not, adding another benefit for this special kind of nutrition.

In looking for an answer to your question, I contacted the LaLeche League and have added their input to this answer. Keep in mind that much of the weight you gained was necessary to insure the health of your baby as it developed. It also took you nine months to gain the weight -- as a result you need to give yourself time to lose the weight. Any accelerated attempts to do so while breastfeeding will put your baby's nutrition at risk as your body will begin to produce substances called ketones that could make your breast milk potentially unhealthy.

There is some good news: women who breastfeed will actually lose weight faster than those who don't. With that in mind however, a breastfeeding woman should not lose more than four pounds per month. Here are a few other suggestions to make this return to pre-pregnant weight as safe as possible.

A diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables is healthy and will promote safe weight loss.
Reduce your intake of all fats.
Drink only skim milk and avoid processed cheeses.
Avoid refined sugars and products that contain them.
Limit intake of breads.
Try to get outside for a walk at least twice a day for half an hour or more.
Clearly, there are no surprises here. It doesn't help either that you may be hungrier while breastfeeding as a mechanism to make sure that your diet is nutrient rich. This is a struggle that most women who do not breastfeed (or have not had children) and many men cannot identify with. Yet, you are making a sacrifice to insure the health and well-being of your baby and one that will ultimately provide you with a sense of accomplishment and confidence as your children grow.

Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY's Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don't get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don't get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription. Its safe for nursing mothers to use. Because it is prescribed in post natal weight gain.
Take care and God Bless !

Baby first. No starving. Your going super hungry can create toxic keytones.
Keep your fluids up and increase your activity. (I know it's hard when you have a small baby.)
Or, just be easy with yourself. No one is expecting you to be a size two with a tiny baby!

People who plan their weekly meals are more successful at losing weight than individuals who don’t. Plan your dishes to include healthy carbs such as special potato and wholegrain pasta, green vegetables and lean proteins, buy the many ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to nibble on out or order in.

Eat goats cheese as an alternative to regular cheese. It contains 40 per cent fewer calories than the cheese constructed from cow’s milk.

you would have to starve/dehydrate yourself to effect milk production. Run run run run run run. it is the quickest way to loose weight. eat egg whites and meat cut all carbs after 3:00 in the after noon. run some more, no sweets no sweets, do not starve yourself! you will not loose weight that way, what happens is your body does into "starvation mode" and puts all calories in to storage ie fat. run more run run, then lots of water. veggies veggies veggies not cheese, no cake no cheesecake. nothing but good for you food, you know what tahat is and running, walking is 80% as good.

Suck that in. Consciously hold in and contract your ab muscles while you’re walking, sitting your desk or making the evening meal. This will help to strengthen your abdominal muscles and your core, and provide you with one step closer to some sort of flatter stomach.
