From what I can tell, Christ was very poor and would not have been rich. If he had excess he would have given it away. Also greed is supposed to be a sin. Does being rich or even the desire to be rich constitute greed?

A man can be both a Christian and rich. There's no universal command in the Bible against riches. Although riches and greed often go hand and hand they do not necessarily always go together. It is up to God if He chooses to bless a man with wealth.

Also, it's possible someone can seek to make money to help others however unlikely. We must be careful not to make sin something the Bible itself doesn't condemn.

Christ was NOT poor. That is a lie. Nowhere does it mention that Christ was poor.

Judas' role was as a treasurer. Poor people do not have treasurers. Also, Jesus lived in a HOUSE and his parents received a gift of GOLD from the three kings.

And the LOVE of money s the root of all evil. Money iself is neither good nor bad.

Yes, greed very much is contrary to Christian teachings, although you wouldn't know it from the financial statements of televangelists these days.

I also would challenge the nutbar who claimed Judas was a treasurer for Jesus to quote where he finds that in the Bible.

If that is your main goal, and it takes up your time instead of God related activities (prayer and bible study), then yes. We are admonished to take care of our families needs, but to put spiritual needs ahead of material ones.

Apparently not. The Catholic church is the richest private organization in the world. Just one more reason why the Catholic church is so hypocritical.
