You dont use the yaki hair to make twist. You need to use a hair with more "nap" to it, like gypsy curl, baby curl or cotton spiral. The yaki is too silky and smooth and wont hold the TWIST pattern. You can use it if you want, but I dont think it will have that "loc" look you are looking for. If you are afraid of the "nap" try the baby curl hair. Its textured but silky at the same time.

You will need to buy:
Hair
rat tail comb (skinny teeth with the long part on the end)
Wide tooth detangling comb
Spray bottle with 1 part water, 1/2 part glycerine
Clips (lots)
hair oil w/o animal products
Aloe vera gel

1.) Wash and deep condition your hair, towel dry and spray with water and glycerine spray.

2.) part your hair into at least three sections with the thin rat tail comb. (Back of head at neck, Middle and top. If your hair is thick do six sections, part down the middle of your head front to back and then to parts from ear to ear.)Make sure your parts are straight. Then detangle the sections with the wide toothed comb and clip or use a hairtie to keep the hair you arent working on.

3.) Starting at the nape of the neck, make a parted row depending on how thick you want your twist. (if you want thin twist, make a skinny row of hair, fatter ones, a thicker one.)

4.) Smooth out the area with the rat tail comb.

5.) Take area you wish to twist. Start the twist like you would a standard extention braid (1 strand of hair, folded in half with your parted hair in between) Once you get the braid anchored (1/4 an inch or so, transition from braiding to twisting. Once the twist is at the length you desire, knot the end.

6.) When you are all done, rub aloe vera gel down the shaft of the twist to give it shine and get rid of any fuzzies. Use the water/glycerine spray every morning to groom and the hair oil for your scalp if it gets dry. If you wish to spray your hair at night, allow an hour or so for your twist to dry out before you tie them up or else they will get that nassy smell. Good luck and post pics!!!
