no...giving up virginity is a specific act. There are many ways to break a hymen...only 1 way to lose virginity.

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, "virgin" means "A person who has not experienced sexual intercourse." But I don't think that the hymen is totally "intact" for most women (according to the website below), making the breaking of a hymen a poor indicator of virginal status.
But since I don't have a hymen, perhaps I shouldn't be the first to respond to this question. ;)

Mostly, but it depends on the context of how it was broken. The hymen can be broken by tampon use, and so that doesn't count. You can also do it horseback riding, and other vigorous activities. Breaking the hymen through intercourse is the only method that counts as actually "losing your virginity"

You lose your virginity when you have intercourse. A hymen can be broken while riding a bike.
Mind you the perception of the hymen being broken is that your virginity is gone - which is what the first guy who copulates with you will think.

It depends on how you define being a virgin. Some people say if you hymen breaks, you are not longer a virgin, but mine broke when I was 8 because I was in a bike accident. But I was still a virgin. Other say it is only when you have sex with someone of the opposite sex. Which means homosexuals who have never had sex with the opposite sex are still virgins even though they have has sex with someone of the same sex. Then there are other who say even oral sex count thus you are not a virgin. So, it depends on what you believe.

Nope because these days many women/girls break their hymen horseback riding or riding their bike etc before they even have sex

Depends how you broke it. If it was from the male part, then yes, you've lost it. But if it was just from stretching and athletics, as some girls break it nowadays, then no, definitely not.
