I do. Once I realized that it was originally meant to make a clearer distinction between the 2 and the 7 it has sounded like a good idea. I do a lot of math puzzles to - this helps cause they can be small spaces. I also cross my Z.
Funny though, it is such a habit for me - now I am trying to teach my kids to read and write and my 7s and Zs don't look like Elmo's (or anybody else's). I find I am having to be selective in using it, and it is surprisingly hard sometimes to remember.

When I was in elementary school, back in the day, my Italian teacher said that the crossing of the 7's and Z's (like hers) was mainly a European thing, but that we could do it if we wanted to. She said that 7's and 1's were written the same way in Europe, as well as the 2's and Z's, but that the lines in the 7's and Z's helped differentiate which was which and caused no more confusion. I only cross my Z's and think I'M pretty cool because of it. LOL!

Yes, I picked up the habit when I was studying math and science. It helps to distinguish the 7 from the 2 for me.

Nope, you have a corner on the market for being "cool". I don't cross my 7's because I'm obviously still stuck in nerd hell.

Yes, I cross both my 7's and my Z's.
Where I live, both ways are accepted, but I prefer to cross them because it looks nicer and I'm already used to writing them that way.
There are people with no style, and then there's us. We are superior to them. Why deny it? :-b

yeah i've always wondered WHY people crossed their 7's... is it because they didn't want it to look like the number 1?
