As a Christian, I never use this phrase--I say--I am not perfect, just forgiven. The comment you stated smacks on judging and that is a no-no.

What do you consider evil, or bad. Take the "7 deadly sins" for example, they are not sins they are natural human charasteristics that were turned into sins by a religious nut to try and prevent people from enjoying life. Not all Christians use this excuse, but in reality no one is perfect because everyone has their own perception of things and their own views. If we all had the same beliefs and views then everyone would be perfect based on that. But everyone is different, so when someone says you are a sinner or a bad person, it's in their own perspective, because in your perspective what you did or do is perfctly normal. Don't generalize or take things literaly too much or you'll die a sad sad person. Ignore those you don't like unless they try to harm you.

That's a grossly general statement. First of all, as one who falls in the category of 'saved' and 'fundamentalist' christian, I would never use that statement as an excuse for inappropriate behavior, nor would I credibly believe someone else is a christian if this was an 'excuse' used.
In Christianity it is true that 'nobody's perfect'. That's what the Bible says: all have sinned, fallen short....." I personally can't imagine saying "nobody's perfect" to excuse someone's sin....I would think a more appropriate response would be "well, he's go some issues that need to be worked out with him and G-d"

Christians contained in the previous dont ascertain what Chrsitians are like on the instantaneous. sure we had a violent historic previous yet maximum persons dont act like that any extra. And each and absolutely everyone contained in the KKK isn't a real Christiian as they dont promote peace and stay theri lives contained in the Footsteps of Jesus. they are somewhat hypocites. and there is a huge hollow between imperfection and hate rallies. "i'm no longer suitable" is an excuse a new child supplies his mom even as he's stuck stealing cookies out to the jar. do merely not team all persons jointly like that. merely because some, nicely plenty, of Christians did something undesirable doesnt advise we are all undesirable human beings. Please dont decide.

First of all, I would like to know how you came to this conclusion!
I don't believe that it is only the Christians that have that idea on their mind. There is Good & Evil In everyone, If someone goes out and commits a horrible crime, people do not look over the crime that was commited because they think this person is not perfect! That person will not only pay for the terrible thing that was done here on earth, but he will also have to pay for what he did when the end of time comes! God, does not,&will not except cruelty! We all know that we are not perfect, no one on this earth is! But God has given us a chance to decide for our selves if we want to do good or evil! Those that do good in life is not perfect! Just like those who do evil! They are not only not perfect, but they are also damned for life, here on earth! If not by others, then they damn them selves in some way! Asking God, for his forgiveness, and forgiving themself as well,is the only way that we will be able to make it through this EVIL WORLD!!!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU!!!

That is not a true statement. Nobody is perfect but it doesn't give you the excuse to go rob someone or kill either. You make your own decisions. This is not an excuse to do whatever you want. Sin is sin and there is no excuse for it. People make mistakes all the time, but you know what is right and what is wrong and what is just an honest mistake, and what isn't.

being not perfect is not exactly the same because no matter how hard you try you will mess up, that is why we need a savior. However as a christian it bugs that people use it as an excuse to do bad things. We are supposed to try as hard as we can and let Christ make up the difference. By the way I am a former atheist and My life is way better now.

Hi there. I am a Christian and me personally, I don't use any excuse to do wrong/evil things. I cannot justify one evil thing I do. Nobody is perfect and neither am I. I am not better than anyone else. But, Jesus loves me more than I can comprehend and will save me just for choosing to love him and be his friend. That's what life is all about, and it's simple.
God says certain things are wrong. We commit evil acts every day. Committing just one evil act makes you imperfect. How can we expect to enter a perfect place when we are imperfect/evil. We need atonement for sins. That's where salvation comes into play. I personally do not deserve mercy since I think I am a horrible person, and I am. But, Jesus' love is so strong for every human being, he will save those who believe. So I am saved because of this truth.
Look, I just take my beliefs from the Bible since it makes more sense to me to take God's Word than a man's word for what is the truth. If I am going to trust anything, it's going to be that book.
I believe this with all my heart. This post is for everyone who reads it. Just take the time to think about it with an open mind and heart and you will see the truth. Please feel free to reach me at maxtex19@yahoo.com.

to stroke thier ego filled heads with more ego juice. and the not a True Christian™ gets pretty old its another excuse.
Real Christians
One of the most frustrating aspects of conversing with Christians has to do with the definition of the term Christian itself. It's easy for anyone to point the finger at the history of Christianity and show its atrocities…the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Nazis… But it is equally easy for someone else to say, "They weren't True Christians."
Now just what do you say to that? (If you're smart, you say nothing and walk away. But I'm not always smart.)
It seems that every Christian has their own definition of what it means to be a Christian. Silly me, I always thought a Christian was one who worshipped Jesus Christ as his/her savior. But to listen to some people, there's far more to it than that. Now, they can't come to an agreement on what those things might be, but they all insist that anyone who doesn't fit their special little definition isn't a Christian. The bible itself isn't clear on the subject, either. But then, the bible is full of contradictory passages, so this should be no surprise.
Some examples of the modern Christian's perspectives... I know of no Christian who accepts that Hitler and the Nazis could possibly have been Christian, despite Hitler's many speeches and writings, despite his words to friends, and despite the vocal beliefs of many of his followers. Similarly, groups like the KKK "aren't Christian," either, even though they constantly refer to Jesus. Catholics? No, they're not True Christians, according to many Protestants. And vice versa.
I've been told that the behaviors of some "supposed" Christians aren't in keeping with the Scriptures, which teach forgiveness, love, and kindness, blah blah blah…
Well, the thing is, some biblical writings do teach such behavior. However, the "good book" is also full of actual examples of the opposite, and from "godly" men, too. Overall, it's a situation of "do as I say, not as I do." And we all know how well that works.
If one were to approach someone described as not being a "real" Christian, they'd insist that they are as "real" as they come. And in their minds, they probably are. So what point is really made by saying they aren't? It's simply a way to dismiss them, to write them off as being pretenders. But that doesn't change the fact that they are, whether one likes it or not, a representative of their professed beliefs. They may not be representative of the best aspects of said belief, but few people are, no matter the beliefs.
To my way of thinking, if you call yourself a Christian, and believe yourself to be a Christian, then it doesn't matter a bit if others think you're Christian or not. It's just a situation of some Christians not wanting to accept that Christians can be scum, just like anyone else.
oh btw its not the christians that are evil its thier religion that is evil took me awhile but i figured that out.

I agree. Today not enough people take responsibility for their actions and are real Christians. It’s a serious moral disease. A big part of this lies in the lazy parents. They think it’s the school and government’s job to baby their kids, and if anyone dare tell them to discipline their kids, they get so defensive and are in denial. And why do you think there are so many lawsuits? When I sin, I admit I did wrong, learn from my mistake, repent, and move on. I never actually make excuses, defend my sins and keep repeating them.

I am a Christian, and my view is that nobody is perfect. That is because the Bible tells us that All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. That is not an excuse however to blatenly sin. We can try our best everyday and still sin because of our inperfection. That does not make someone out right evil though.
