Wow, what a bunch of flip answers, for the most part.
If you are going through a foreclosure or about to be, I would suggest first contacting Legal Aid - ASAP. Find out if the foreclosure can be halted or if there is a way to deal with the mortgage company, before the foreclosure starts, while you are waiting on SSDI to kick in. You have filed for SSDI? If not, you should.
Then I would suggest talking to your local DHS, social security, your doctors, the nurses and the hospital - basically ask anyone and everyone. Find out if there are programs or charities that will help you in saving your home.
DHS may also have a program that will help you with basic living expenses etc (somewhat) until your SSDI kicks in.
There probably are some charities or cancer programs that could be a help to you, you just need to find them.
I'm sorry I can't be of more help. And I'm also sorry that you are going through not only dealing with cancer but also the possibility of losing your home.
Good luck to you, and you will be in my prayers.

Ok, I think most people here misunderstood your question:
You said that you want to fix your credit but you dont have a job AND you dont have any credit card debt.
So.....the first thing you should do is DO NOT close any credit card accounts, use them at least once a year. You dont need to buy something big. I use the credit cards I dont use once a year to buy gum or something less than $5 and I pay it off the next month. So in your case do the same use your cards at least once a year for something small and pay it off the next month that way you keep your credit active and you have made your payments on time.
That is all you need to do, this is a proven strategy. You can ask anyone working with peoples credit and they will tell you the same.
Good luck!

Fixing your credit is the least of your worries right now. Beat cancer, then you can deal with the credit report problem.

I wouldn't worry about your credit at this point, worry about yourself and focus all your attention on beating the cancer.

Go to your church and community organizations. See if the hospital where you are being treated has resources.
