His name was Dismas
One of the thieves crucified with Jesus, the other being traditionally known as Gestas; Dismas is the one who rebuked the other, and asked for Christ's blessing.
An old legend from an Arabic infancy gospel says that when the Holy Family were running to Egypt, they were set upon by a band of thieves including Dismas and Gestas. One of the highwaymen realized there was something different, something special about them, and ordered his fellow bandits to leave them alone; this thief was Dismas.

Tradition says that the man's name was "Dismas". But since that's a play on the Greek word for thief, I think you may safely assume that his real name is unknown to us.
Still, he IS considered a saint, since Christ promised that he would be in Paradise with him and that's what a saint is, after all: a human being in heaven. St. Dismas is as good as any other name and lots easier than saying, "the repentant thief who got crucified with Jesus."

Why do you call him good? He wasn't good, He was a thief (unless you mean that he did thievery extremely well) . He did accept Christ and Christ is good, so I guess you could say that Christ loaned the thief some goodness, but the the thief was not good on his own. None of us are without Christ.

I wasn't aware that he had a name. I thought he was just the thief that repented in the Bible?

His name is not given in the bible.
And there is no indication that he was "good". He sort of confessed to being a thief. He was polite and respectful while he was dying, and perhaps was professing faith in Christ.
