I'm Canadian and looking to go to university/college in Utah for teacher's college (also to move closer to my boyfriend). Does anyone have any tips for me in terms of school there, employment for international students, financial aid, etc? I'm looking for anyone who might have already done this.

Find out how long you have to be a resident of the state so that you can start paying in state prices. How you boyfriend add your name to his electric, or some other bill. That by your resident is set-up earlier. Then get the job and wait for that period to end. For the job Temp-services "best way"
Good Luck!!!

Utah huh... it is going to be very different than Canada, there's a lot of Mexicans and a lot of Mormans... but, in my experience, Utah has some of the nicest people and most beautiful places this country has to offer. I have no idea about finacial aid, you would probably be able to get US student loans, but it is highly unlikely that you will get any type of federal grants. I know the state schools in Utah offer full state grants and state prices after two years of residence/schooling but I'm not sure if it is applicable for a Canadian resident. Your best chance would be to get student aid from Canada or you local province, state, city or whatever... I know that the US grants US citizens a lot of aid to study abroad, but again, you're in a different country so Canada might not do that. Oh, and we don't offer free health insurance either so you might want to make sure you have that end covered.
