For the most part the "PC" world still exists; especially when it comes to laws and legal battles. However, the average American is getting more rude and harder to discipline or mold into a useful member of society. Eventually, our rudeness will alienate us from ourselves like it has the rest of the world and our older families.

I don't think we are PC at all. If anything, PC has given people an excuse to be rude to each other, while claiming that they are sick of PC and rebelling.
Just look at what's popular these days. Bill O'Reilly, Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, whatever. Rude and is in. Nice is out.
I see it every time I drive or go somewhere, even to the supermarket. And for some reason, people on the Internet (especially Forums and Chat) are even ruder.
It's sad but I've reached a point where I just avoid people entirely.

Being polite seems to have gone the same way as good service - out the door. Take a trip to any store that employs lower wage staff, and in some cases even well-paid staff, and you get at the best indifference, and at the worst crappy service.
I think this all comes from a generation of mostly spoiled children whose parents give them anything they want.... including their way. I see it on the playground, in the schools and it's disgusting how little control parents have over their children. What's scary is, it's these kids who will soon be looking after emergency services, water quality, health care, government......
And before someone blasts me for this, I know there are still good, honest and hard working youth out there.... but I think you can agree they are few and far between.

Politeness is a classic characteristic that is slowing fading to gray. Oddly enough; politeness is a skill that is developed and natured from childhood to adult. It allows most individuals, rather in a formal or informal situation to paramount just about anything and looking unchallenged. Yet, people these days act as if politeness has never enter their brains. It just shows that the more intellect we become; the flip side is that we lose our social interactive skills.

PC is not nice.
Its restrictive and authoritarian.
Most polite people know which words to use and which to not use.
To purge words from books that were written in the vernacular of a particular time period is especially odious.
Huckleberry Finn for example.

I think people are getting more rude. It seems that most people only think about themselves these days. We're living in a very selfish world.
