The Word says that the marriage bed is undefiled. Note that is the marriage bed, God designed sex for an intimate part of marriage, not the weekend. People act like we are the ones that came up with sex, like Adam and Eve were standing around in the garden bored and Adam's like "Hey, I got an idea". Sex is a wonderful thing given to us by God to be used in the confines of marriage and yes, it should definately be fun. As far as the sex shops go, I think alot of them contain pornography, and as much as some may hate to hear it, it is a sin, so that's why I'm against them personally. But there are places on the net for Christian couples looking to spice things up.

I guess that's a partially legitimate argument, but you should think about a couple of things first. Sadism is cruelty, and masochism is the enjoyment of being hurt or debased. Both of those are emotions that can (and will) corrupt your heart and make you a less loving and kind person- which is not what God wants for you. Bondage is much like simulated rape, and that's not any better. These types of sex are not specifically condemned as sinful, but I have serious doubts about whether they're wise or not. I hesitate to disapprove of anything done between a husband and wife, and I guess it's theoretically possible that such things could be done with love on the part of both partners, if you were just playing at it for fun and didn't really mean it seriously. . . but I still have doubts about the wisdom even of that. I think it's doubts like that which cause Christians not to like sex shops- or at least that's my reason.

Having been a Christian, I remember an almost Puritanical attitude towards sexuality. I think that a lot of Christians oppose "sex shops" because they see it as something that should be kept under the covers. (Pun sort of intended.) The presumption is that their existence perpetuates sexual activity, which is to be done only in the context of marriage.
However, a misconception is that SM is all about sex. While there is a sexual component, SM is not exclusive to a sexual relationship.
In terms of whether or not that is a sin, consider that sin is defined as an imperfection. It could be that denial of this interest within the context of marriage would go against what is laid out for the couple. Something to think about.

S&M would be personal choice.
My views on why Christians try to close the sex shops is lust.
Christian beliefs do say fantasy is immoral. Because it takes away from enjoying the life you have, accepting the life you have & making the most of the life you have.
People have active hormones they cannot help it. It doesn't hurt anybody & it's probably a very healthy release valve.

S&M and the question of sex shops are totally different. The view on sex type shops is that it promotes sex outside of marriage and encourages acts that are against God. God intended sex to be between a man and a woman who is married only. If both man and wife agree and enjoy it then thats great. But both should only do it if it is in full agreement.

It would be considered a sin if I were to do it because of what I believe to be right and wrong. I believe it to be a carnal act. Any choice or act that brings you farther away from the Holy Spirit is considered Spiritual Death, or sin. If one believe these types of activities over time will bring one closer to Christ and God then I believe they are greatly deceived and will receive their just reward.
As for the closing of shops, I have not participated in this type of activity because where I live is where these are not.

Anything that is consensual between two partners is not a sin in my book.
Perhaps the 'christians' feel that sex shops and their assorted merchandise promotes sex outside of marriage or even [oh! the horror!] gay or lesbian sex. I don't remember giving control of my sex life over to anyone, so I think they should just keep their mouths shut.

I do not believe that it is a sin, if both partners enjoy it why not. I think that to many people put to much stock in their checklist of Sin and Not Sin. I think that if you live a life for God that you do not have to worry what position you are in.

I think it's okay . . . . but they might be trying to close down sex shops because technically you are only supposed to do it missionary style, but then again going to the bathroom is a sin also, so I wouldn't worry too much.
