go to www.webmd.com and ask for the symptoms, talk to your family doctor or a psychologist. Good Luck :-)

It does sound like you are depressed if you have a family doctor (primary care doctor) that would be a good start but your O B could prescribe an antidepressant also if you feel more comfortable talking to him or her the main thing is to get help antidepressants can literally be a life saver keep in mind it takes 4 to 6 weeks before the total effect of the meds work so be patient they do work and remember you are not alone nor are you crazy or any thing like that sometimes our chemicals don't work correctly and that is what antidepressants do they balance your brain chemicals hang in there better times are coming I PROMISE

Doesn't matter if it comes from an ob or a psychiatrist. You'll know when you're feeling better, when the meds are working. But it does help to talk to a therapist while going through depression. Since I talked to an expert about my issues, my life has improved 100%. I fought depression, and I don't need meds anymore.

How long have you had your depression? What things or people make you feel depressed and angry about? Do some investigative work on your own. Make a list of everything or everyone that bothers you in a bad way. Then make a list of everything or everyone that makes you feel happy. Weigh your pros and cons. If your cons out weigh the pros, then you need to make an appointment with your family doctor. He or she may be able to recommend a good psychologist or counselor. If you need medications, the psychologist or counselor will recommend you to see a psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are trained to give out any anti-depression medications or any psych drugs.
Good luck to you and I hope I was some what helpful!
I hope you feel better soon!

Only you really know if you are depressed. Do you always feel sad? I always had trouble understanding why people thought I should be so happy. A family doctor can help you know if you are suffering from depression (bring tissues), they can give you medicine, offer suggestions for other helpful practices ( exercise and a regular sleep schedule) and hook you up with a therapist that you can talk to. Best of luck!!

Talk to your regular physician, who will probably schedule some tests to ensure any depression isn't being physically created (blood sugars, hormones, etc.) Your Doctor would then send you to a psychiatrist (who is actually a medical doctor first) to see if prescriptions are necessary. Only the psych can issue such prescriptions initially, although your regular doctor may be authorized to continue the prescriptions later on for you.

Talk to a Minister. The use of psychotropic meds to alleviate depression is abused. Most of the time people can glean intelligent and helpful advice from a pastor at a local church for free and ascertain methods for overcoming the stress/temper, etc etc. Hope it helps you - it did me.

OR you could take your butt on a run or do some exercise. Much cheaper and easier. Don't have chemicals screwing around with your brain that way and it will do the same thing as the meds. Endorphins will make you happy as will the Vitamin D you get from the sun.

You should go on line and look up the symptoms for depression. That would be a clear indication of whether or not you are symptomatic for the use of antidepressant medication. Then you should either contact your primary physician for a referral to a psychiatrist or contact one yourself to be evaluated to see exactly what type of diagnosis you have and what medications you can take.

I took antidepressant meds for 1 year but this is bad really bad, doctor shouldn't prescribe this kind of medicine because you become addicted like a drug and doesn't resolve the problem!
