>>>Obviously there are a lot of theists here.<<<
Well, what did you expect on a Religion & Spirituality forum?
>>>I'm just wondering why a lot of them are compelled to answer irreligious questions<<<
That statement almost compels me to ask why you, earlier today, posted an irreligious question (something about Republicans and Democrats) here on the Religion section.
But to answer your wondering -- "theists" also have a lot of knowledge and valid opinions about irreligious matters, as well as about religious matters.
Just because someone is a "theist" doesn't mean that he/she knows things only about religious matters, and nothing else.

Possibly for the same reason that atheists seem compelled to answer religions questions, or to post anti-religious questions in a religious forum. If you don't want to hear from people with religious beliefs, why post the question?

I notice a lot more bashing coming from a lot of atheists (notice I said a lot and not all of them). But maybe that's because I am a Catholic Christian.
May God bless you.

I think atheism is a relevant subject in the religious section. It is the opposite of religion so it should be discussed in a religious forum. Christians are always throwing religion in my face and preaching to me. I have an opinion and they are going to know it.

Yeah I posted something similar yesterday. I guess its universal, non believers like to try and answer religious questions and vise versa.
However, if the question has no religious/spiritual context, then it probably shouldnt be asked in this section.

I think because they are desperate to convince the atheists to converts. Some because it's part of their belief to spread the message and convince everybody or maybe their job wasn't done. Some because they need them to believe to validate their belief, though they'd never admit that. When they are unsuccessful, they become frustrated that can lead to anger, etc.
