Chewing ice can cause china cracks in your teeth that can lead to problems later on down the road. If they are going to chew ice buy or make crushed ice, it's not as hard on the teeth.

When I was younger I use to chew on ice all the time until one time I bit down and it chipped my tooth. So that would be the only harm I would say. I now have a filling where the piece broke off.

Those teeth will fall out and be replaced by new ones anyway, so it doesn't matter now. But when they get older and take care of their own teeth, make them aware that it's not good to chew on ice. They can ruin them on their own if they want to.
