I now work out and watch what I eat and there has been no change.

Unfortuantely with menopause goes the hormones and metabolism that keep you a little more trim..if you have been in pretty good shape and ate healthy and exercised you may be able to control your weight..it will be a little tougher..if you were already having weight problems then it will harder to get the weight off..

change in metabolism. you got trick your bod back into fat burning mode which requires more endurance cardio work and strength training.
