I married a caudill and can't find anything on his heritage and would like to do the geneolgy for my kids and can't find any thing except his dad's name which is max oscar caudill and the stories that i have heard want to know if they are ture.

Three free sites to search in are listed. Ancestry costs about $30.00, and rootsweb has the same info, but ancestry has census records. Just remember that if someone is still living they will only be listed as living and all info on that person won't be shown anywhere because of privacy.
In rootsweb you may find other researchers who have posted info and their web page and in the message board.
Usgenweb is a state and county search and the lds is the Latter Day Saints site which has a load of info.

There are many Caudills in Eastern Kentucky. I found many on the censuses of the Johnson County area. Good luck.

I don't know what state you are from, but my mother was a Caudill from KY. Her mother was a Caudill and married a Caudill (no kin).

I personally dont know anything about the name but I do have access to ancestry and I'd be more than willing to help :) The subscription is just sort of collecting dust right now so it would be nice to put it to use lol.
