I should think it would work just fine, but I will caution a Christian about using Pagan magick the same as I'd caution a Pagan about using Christian magick; when you use a magick system based on a specific religion, like Goetia, which is certainly Abrahamic, you can only rely on the protection of that religion's Gods if you are actually a follower of that God.

But Pagan magick is, for the most part, much more benign than Christian magick and doesn't usually involve the summoning of forces you may or may not be able to control, so a Christian performing Pagan magick (which uses the generally benign powers of Nature and Self) is probably alot safer than a Pagan using Christian magick (Which relies on the summoning of Angels and Demons and the power of their God to protect you from them. Scary ****!)

A Catholic would try out druid and other pagan magic spells. That is all that would happen.

Whatever he believes about that stuff is immaterial by the nature of your question.

What are you leading to? Would a Catholic burn in hell? Too little information to make a determination on the basis of your question.

Are you a Catholic who tried out druid and other pagan magic spells? Does your conscience bother you? You can always go to confession.

Did someone you know who is Catholic try out druid and other pagan magic spells?

What is the problem here? Are you curious or is your conscience bothering you?

A Catholic would be in violation of the First Commandment. the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:

2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.

2138 Superstition is a departure from the worship that we give to the true God. It is manifested in idolatry, as well as in various forms of divination and magic.

You would slowly be drawn deeper and deeper into the web of Satanism and the like. It starts out simple but you would want more and more.

In your search to learn... spirits begin to dominate your thinking and control you. You will leave your Catholic upbringing... and before long... you will be signing your name in blood to the devil and participating in black masses.

Ritualistic spells are nothing to play with... it is not a game. Seek God and learn to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit... instead of the counterfeit powers of demons.

ya know that's funny, my friend is trying to sell her house and buried a St Joseph statue head down in the yard, and I couldn't help but think this is like a magic spell, you have to do it just so and read a prayer (incantation?) bless a candle with oil, then light it, place the Holy Card (amulet?) in with the deed or mortage papers, just like from a book of magic

It depends when he tried it. If he did it in the 13th century, he would be tortured by the Inquisition and then burned as a heretic.

If he did it now -- not so much.

That individual would have to ask for God's forgiveness. For associating with unclean spirits.
