The reason that Christianity is disdained in all the world is because Christ was despised and so the disciples of Jesus will also be despised. The most probable other answer to me is that even though one might be a Christian, not everything is peachy keen and everyone has problems that they have to deal with. People are often very critical of religious people because some time quite frankly godly people do ungodly things and when that happens it really get noticed but the last 50 godly things go unnoticed. It what I like to refer to as the tight rope dance of living as a holy example.

Anti-religious people reached positions of authority.
Even though the first amendment prohibits any law abriging the free expression of religion and the establishment of an official goverment religion, secular humanism is the only religion allowed to be proclaimed publicly.
The majority of journalists are atheists or agnostics, so every news story gets a negative spin. The Supreme Court makes laws instead of interprets them, without the citizens getting any input.
Above all, it is considered 'politcally correct' to argue for any religion other than 'Christianity' (of any definition).

George Bush got elected & re-elected.
And, his daddy, when vice president, publicly stated that atheists are traitors and should not be allowed to be citizens.
Christians apparently want a war.
The US was not founded by Christians, nor was it founded as a "Christian nation." Most of the founding fathers were "Deists" and they established the US as an atheist (secular) nation.
Christians repeatedly demonstrate their ignorance.
There has never been an atheist on the US Supreme Court. 5 of the 9 current justices profess to be Catholic. The US court system has been taken over by the Catholic church, thanks to George Bush and the GOP.

Much like God we provide freedom of choice, and not just in America but worldwide, Christians die for their beliefs daily. In Sudan, Asia, the Middle East, and Parts of South America.Wherever the enemy can establish a foothold, he will lead masses down a road to their spiritual death.

Luke 6:22
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
John 7:7
The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
John 15:18
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
These people who hate it don't like hearing the good news. It condemns their lifestyle.

Read the bible then look around.
Best advice I can give you.
A couple of questions
does the commandment
thou shall not kill? apply to a judge? where does it say it's ok to kill anyone ever?
if you trust in God why do you put it on your money?
why do you say pledge to a flag and not God?
a flag is nationalism not religion.
so if you practice what you preach and quit casting stones at all for whatever then maybe people would not be bitter?
no answers, just more quetions.

people don't other people telling them what to do. its a knee jerk reaction. the "christianity" conveyed in some of the postings doesn't exactly show a tolerant and understanding religion. I'm roman catholic myself but some of these people appear to be ignorant of pretty much everything else in the world apart from the bible. they piss me off too sometimes, to be honest.

I do wonder that too. I mean, this country was founded on Christianity and now all kinds of people live and practice their beliefs here. This country is going down-hill. Big time. How sad.

That they themselves..as humans..presume to speak FOR God in all things..instead of simply humbling themselves as students.
I doubt if anyone on earth really understands anything about our Creator..just look around you now!
But i WILL NOT bow before the ideals of Man. Nuff said!!
