Lets say you meet a woman and you truly enjoy her company and you have a really good time. You are to the point you think there could be a relationship with this special someone. Then you find out her credit is really bad because of a lot of bad things that happened, would you say "forget it?"

I would try to hear the whole story, as I know sometimes circumstances are beyond the control of a person, and may have been caused by another person. I would make my decision based on the sincerity of the story and how easy it was to resolve the problem.

Personally, I would not just say "forget it." First off, i am financially stable enough to not worry about it. But, next and most importantly, it is the person that counts. We have all made mistakes in our lives, even financially. Whatever may have happened to her credit (given the circumstances which you have outlined for me) does not compare to being in her presence, so i would just live with it and continue to enjoy her company. To put it more simply: it is her that i like/potentially love, not her credit!

Having been down that road, I wouldn't chase her off unless it seemed like she didn't learn from it. This whole credit thing is a big ugly mess, the smart people are those that find a pair of scissors and get rid of their credit cards....you're not advancing yourself in life by paying interest to others...

I don't think you should be worried over someones credit if you think this is the someone that you want to be with forever. Credit scores can be changed..

I would have her for a friend but I would think twice about marrying her. Money problems are the #1 cause of divorce
