I think others are afraid of things they don't know.
Love is blind so therefore it sees no color, race or
anything else.
We tend to group people on the basis of how a few act
instead of trying to get to know each person on individual basis.

I don't really know because it's not an opinion I hold. But it seems to me that they think it takes away from the culture of one race. The older people remember a time when the country was even more racially divided than it was now and it's hard for them to feel comfortable with interracial dating because of what they've seen. It's an individual opinion. But I can't see anything wrong with interracial dating.

Well, the question should be "Why do people think it is sometimes wrong to date outside THEIR own race?". Spell check is a good thing, but a good old fashioned basic knowledge of the english language is a great thing.
However, there is nothing wrong with any two people dating as long as they are good to each other.

There is nothing scriptural against dating interacially, for one. No matter what any one thinks. People should not judge people based on their appearances. But you have to take into account that customs in some parts of the country will make it difficult for people to be an interracial couple. But if your love is strong you can stand against it. In some cases because of this it make be harder for a couple to have a peaceful life for themselves and their potential family. But the interesting thing is that there is a new generation of people growing up now that are the offspring of mixed relations. And that will be a force to be reconked with.

It may be a matter of cultural differences, and the older people may want to preserve the culture and traditions of their own race. When you intermarry the cultures are mixed or the couple has to choose between the two, with some of the heritage being lost over time.

It creates a lot of problems when you are around racist peopla and there are plenty. If you live up in the North west there is less, and in Mexico there seems to be very little problem. But nowdays there is not as much..
My foster parents would have had a fit to know that I have married a Mexican Lady..

I think is has something to do with the society they were raised in. I know older people that see a problem with it. I don't think younger people has such an issue with it except in some geographical regions (small towns in Oklahoma, the south, etc).

There is still lingering institutional racism present in the U.S. Many of my older relatives were brought up with the idea that others were inferior, not to be trusted, and to be feared. They grew up learning stereotypes and ignoring people who didn't adhere to them. I don't know exactly what kind of mental process it takes to have examples of decent, hardworking people of any other ethnicity right there in front of you and yet say "Oh, that's just him, the others act differently." I guess I was lucky to never get that disease.

Because most older people were raised to believe that they shouldn't be even talking to opposite race (mostly blacks and whites), let alone dating them.

My parents, grandparents and great grand parents are like that. They alway told me if I ever brought a black guy home they'd shoot me lol. They said....it's ok to be friends, just don't marry 'em. I don't know I think it is the older generations mostly though...attitudes are changing :)
Well, I am not like that. I myself don't find black men very handsome but if my daughters wanted to date one I would not mind as long as he was isn't one of those that has his pants around his knees and he treats her well!
