well, this illegal problem has been brewing for yrs, even since the last amnesty. this has been an issue that politicians hav avoided for at least 10-15 yrs, but since no one wants to focus on IRAQ & GAS prices, the immigration prob will do for now. this problem has been the cause of our gvmt & employers who indeed make it easy for illegals to work & stay here. ppl r just p*ssed off cuz it has been blown up & its easier to hate & assimilate than it is to hav a voice & an open mind. personally, i think that the honest, hard working non-recipients of public assistance should b able 2 stay if they pass a background check, etc.. after all, the blame should b placed on the American gvmt & Americans. people will treat u the way u allow them to treat u- & dam we've let it go on 4 so long we as americans r to blame. but that's me & we're all entitled to our own opinion-or lack there of.

Listen, Ana. If you live in America, this is the country of immigrants and you are an immigrant. What's one more or a million more, America is big and bad enough to accept.
They will bring a new culture, new ideas, work hard. Just what is your problem, immigrant.
If the Native Americans had had a legal system of entering the country, none of you would be here in the first place.
You should thank them.
Those illegal immigrants are working and getting paid, they are not scrounging off the State.

I'm going to disagree with just about everyone on here. Is it really worth the billions of dollars it would take to track down all of the illegal immigrants and send them back to their countries? It would cost more than "paying their tabs" in this country. I say closely regulate the borders from this point- more closely than in the past, but such an extreme action is really unnecessary and too expensive.
And really, are you that upset that someone took your dream job of back-breaking farming labor, anyway? If that's all you aspire to be given the opportunities of a legal citizen in this country, maybe you should be the one to leave.

Perhaps we should consider where we all came from. I know that my forefathers were mainly all immigrants at one point. The white men of America need to realize that they too are visitors on this land. Maybe then they will be better stewards of the land (speaking as one of the white men). There is a better solution to this issue (not problem) than just building a bigger fence and trying to keep people out. I think the Republicans are just trying to get people fired up about non-issues so that we don't question them about other things they sweep under the rug......

If they are here illegally, send them back. If there are here legally and go through the citizenship process, fine. I don't care if they immigrate...just obey the laws of the land.

Send them back. Many people came here legally, and it's just a slap in the face to them to automatically legalize the others.

the problem is not with immigrants, but with illegal immigrants. They should be sent back, and employers who hire them be fined.

OMG, where do I start? Forget it...just send em home and build a hugh wall around our country, and post ALL of our military on the wall with sniper rifles...lol. And put a sign on the wall "AMERICA CLOSED" Only ppl on legit business be let in through one airport and then flown to their destination escorted. And maybe not even that, anyone heard of conference calls? lol
BTW the time of our forefathers is so over. We are getting bombarded now. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

There would be NO immigration problem if employers were held responsible and prosecuted for hiring illegals.. No jobs, no illegals.
