Your daughter is going to be 1... she won't remember the cake. Save that idea for when she's 12.

She's not really going to care what it looks like and I've never been to a birthday party where someone has said "That cake looks horrible!" so I wouldn't stress over it if I were you. Most bakeries can now transfer a photo you have on to the cake. It would look unique because of the picture but it also isn't going overboard. I do know of a few people that have commented on how over-the-top a birthday party has been. 1 thing I've seen that I like though is getting a separate cupcake for the birthday girl. Then you don't end up with hand prints all over the big cake!

Everybody is saying who cares. But you know that if you just let it go, you will feel like you neglected her birthday. I make all of my sons cakes and he is 4. Don't necessarily go exclusive, but just make it fun, it will be more stressful than you think, if you let it get to you. She only turn 1, once.

Your child will be a one year old. The "exclusive" design is for you, not her. Just get Blues Clues or whatever like everyone else.

Do you think your 1 year old daughter gives a sh*t what her cake looks like? Buy her the cheapy that costs like 8 bucks, shes gonna dump her whole face in it anyhow.

J.B. has a good idea. But if you really want to you can go to your local grocery store/bakery. They do that kind of thing.
