the Democratic party has taken on too many "fringe" organizations and has alienated people who used to vote independently.

Very hard to say at this point. There are a great number of factors that can effect who will be the next president. Most noteably the fact that none have declared candidacy yet. Party is less important than getting the right person for the job.

being a republican I do hope we win in 08
but if the current admin continues to give out $89 billion dollar gifts while our our wages remain the same and cost of everything from oil to food goes up maybe we need a change in the white house
