mileage to and from a permanent place of business is commuting and therefore not tax deductible. If you worked out of your home, for the benefit of your employer, and went to the office only occasionally, then the mileage would be deductible as an employee business expense, assuming you itemize.

I believe you can but it depends on your state and if you commute more than 50 miles easch way..I recall asking the same question and being told by tax service travel either has to be part of the job or the commute must be far.

Commuting is not deductable. You can take mileage from one work place to another.
