What do you think of me dropping out of school after 11th grade, since I had trouble passing standardized tests required for graduation? I have no desire to get a GED and I am already working at a job I like which is janitorial work.

Finish high school, or at least get the GED. A lack of a diploma will hurt you in the long run. If you try to come back and earn a GED later, it will be even harder because you will have forgotten so much. You are so close. Don't stop now!

Don't do it. The GED is harder than high school and not as much fun. You may not want a diploma today, but you should keep your options open. Do you really want to listen to your future spouse bitc#ing for the 37th time about your crappy job? and how you'll never amount to anything? In 11th grade you are almost there, almost done. Maybe someday you'll want to be the manager of the janitorial place, but without a diploma that may not be possible.

Hey, if you're happy, and if the money you make at your job will be enough to pay for you (and anyone who's dependent on you) to survive and maybe sock a little away, then by all means, stick with it, and drop out of school.

Although, to be honest, even if you drop out of school, I'd try to keep educating yourself anyway. Read, write, and study as much as possible. True, standardized testing may cause you problems in school, but that doesn't mean you can't get an education some other way. The most important thing is: Nobody should ever be too content with him- or herself the way he or she is!

Do you really want to be scrubbing other people's toilets for the rest of your life? I think not.....Please don't drop out. Nobody ever said life would be easy. We all have to work hard to improve ourselves and our situations and provide for our families. Working hard for something makes us appreciate what we have. You can't go through the rest of your life with no ambitions.....well I guess you "could", but the rest of the world would pass you by. All you have to do is TRY, you never know how high you could soar.

What do I think about you? Only that you are young, kinda confused and are lacking in self-esteem. Getting a good solid education will change all that. Then if you still want to work as a janitor you can, but if and when you decide you don't want to be a janitor anymore you will have the resources to do something else.

Remember...."You can't soar with Eagles if you work with Turkeys". Please don't give up.

I think atleast getting your GED is important. Janitorial work is what you want now what about later in life when you're married and have kids? You should want more for yourself. You should want to give your future kids something to look up to.

If that is all you want out of life, and you think that is all you will ever want out of life, then free up classroom space for the people who will one day day you your salary and control your life. That's my little way of saying finish HS because you don't know what you may have to have in the future. You probably won't always fee this way. You want a better paying job and the stuff that goes with making a whole lot more money? Then finish up.

Get your GED because you will have no chance to get a better job without it. You might be satisfied now but if you get married and have children you will want to be able to support them. Children take a lot of money to raise.

I think that is a personal choice and it is good that have that option to choose. I have seen people go both ways the only problem is that it may limit the oportunites of later on and even cause prejudice against you
