What makes Christianity true is the person of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. He's not some mythical creature we made up. He walked this earth just like we are ourselves now. This is history, these are facts.
You want to deal with facts or theory? You say: "you cant deal with the fact that when you die there is no after life." Is that a fact? Who proved there's no after life? Did you die and find that out? I don't mean to be sarcastic but think about what you're asserting. You speak as if you know when in fact you don't.
We know there's an after life not because we make empty assertions but because Jesus rose again and proved it. A FACT people have tried to disprove for centuries.

i appreciate you being bold enough to ask such a point blank question. I don't believe in God and live my life according to teachings in His Bible as a comfort to me because of a fear of the unknown as far as afterlife is concerned. In fact there is a lot of uneasiness in having Faith in God at times... praying and waiting for an answer can be nerverwracking at times. I believe in God and I read His word because I have good reason to believe that what the Bible says is true. I have done a lot of research on the Bible and other books and have found some truly amazing things. I've read a book recently by a guy named Josh McDowell called Evidence that Demands a Verdict. He was an athiest who set out to study the Bible with the purpose of proving that it is all false. He ended up becoming 100% convinced of the Bible's authenticity, integrity, accuracy, and in God's existence and love for the people He created. I have discovered that no other book is as accurate and contains as few errors as the Bible. And I don't mean there's a close tie for first place... it beats out other books tremendously! It's truly amazing when you start to learn about its history! I can tell you more if you'd like. I won't force my beliefs on you. I will just tell you what I have come to learn. Only if you want... email me.
Hope this helps some.

Yay. Someone who thought about that same exact thing. Why do Christians and Catholics always believe they religion is true and everybody else is going to hell for not believing what they do. Their are tons of religions so why do you assume you are right. Is it because you are force fed when you are young. Or are you just ignorant. Atheists have dealt with the fact that we are not going anywhere when we die. Thats why you have the coolest life you can have now. Do you turn to religion because your life sucks. Do you want to believe that this life doesn't matter and it doesnt matter if you are a loser. Have fun with your life while following all the rules of the bible. Also have fun dying and not going anywhere.

I believe in God because I know there is a God. Psalms 19: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. I also believe that God came to the earth to take care of our sin nature. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and rose again the third for our justification. Do you really wish to take a chance when you die you just go to the grave. What if there is one chance in a million that there is a hell for those that have rejected what Jesus Christ did on the cross. Would you take that chance? Philippians 2: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Philippians 2: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

The thought of nothingness does not scare me at all, I just find it very hard to believe that we simply evolved over millions of years. It just doesn't make sense to me!
What makes my religion true? Well what makes it true for me, is the fact that it changed my life! If God didn't exist than prayer wouldn't work, faith in Him wouldn't work!
I have experienced God's life-changing power in my own life though. I was suffering from an eating disorder and depression when I called out to God more than 8 years ago. He answered me and I was healed over night. That's why I know that God exists and why I'll always be grateful for what He has done in my life.

I do believe in God...not only because I was born to believe but because I challenged my doubts and thoughts of whether there is a God. I doubted because I heard of unfair treatment of children , women , men animals and environment. I doubted because I thought how could God allow this? Then I was in a car accident and miraculously survived. Before waking up I was shown a sight which made me believe. We are given free will and this world is ruled by evil, but if you look you can see God everywhere in everyone and everything. You can see his goodness. Our will allows us to discern between good and evil and here is the testing ground to see if you are worthy of living with the Holiest of Holiest in a place that he has prepared for you. Each trial we face daily here on earth is like the polishing of a diamond we become stronger and more resilient to the evils in this world I have made it my life purpose to study all religions and have come to one conclusion_God is LOVE...IF YOU CAN SHOW LOVE AND LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR BY HELPING then you are accomplishing your mission here.Kindness and Compassion are keys to living a good life. It's not about going to church ...it's about being active by loving those around you...that is the church.

Actually if there was no God and no afterlife don't you think that would be a relief to a lot of people? No more waking up early for church, or having to feel guilty for the wrong they have don't. I'm ashamed to admit, but there are countless decisions I would have made differently if there were no God. I choose faith over material and worldly possessions. So by most peoples standards(non Christians), my life would be better without a God.

I look at it this way, i believe in god and pray for the world, but make sure that i dont become like born again-christiany and go around to people telling them they're going to burn in hell. but i try to be a decent person. So if by some chance there turns out theres no god. i had a good life, I loved people, had friends, crazy times. but if there is a god then you know, even better.

What makes mine so true? Cause I read the end of the book and know what is going to happen!!! I choose to believe in God as I see the evidence all around me daily. Death does not scare me in the least. I would welcome it as I know the next concious thing I will see is my Saviours face calling me to take me to Heaven. I pity those like you that have no faith in anything and try to make fun of those that do believe in something. I know I will wake up as I do believe what God says. Never lied to me yet and I dont' think He will either.

I believe in God and everything he stands for. I believe this because for the most part this is what I choose to believe. As a child I did not have a choice and I am glad that my mom made the consious decision to have all 3 of her children attend church right along side of her.
