Buddhism will help someone find heaven during their lifetime but the children still have to evolve through the lower stages of development before they can think of enlightenment. I'm not sure how good Buddhism is for taking someone through lower stages of development.

The morals and truths of Buddhism are good for any age. I wouldn't force any beliefs on children whether it's Buddhism or Christianity. I am Buddhist and my wife is Christian. There are good things that can be taught from both without forcing any dogma on them. By teaching them the morality now, they can later decide for themselves whatever religion or method suits them.

I like to pour myself a short glass of good port, light a joint, and eat super rope red licorice. If that all goes well, I may put on rollerskates and my bathrobe.

I believe they both exist. I have no quarrel with either.
But mixing the two together and then driving is just not safe. Don't do it.
