There really shouldn't be a problem seeing as how in our constitution it gives us the freedom of religion. If anyone else has a problem with it then they should move to another country. I didn't serve for ten years just so some close-minded bigot can give another American trouble for their choice of religion.

more power to them. In the days following 9/11 when anyone who if slightly looked Mid-Eastern came under attack, I thought it would be great if any woman --whether Muslim or not, could dress in the hijab...you know, kind of flood the streets with women dressed like this. Sometime I would like to dress like this for a week and go out and see what reaction/attitudes I get from other people would be.
It's kind of like a story I read a few years back in Reader's Digest. In a small city in Washington or Oregon, the Jewish population was being harassed during Hanukkah--graffiti painted on houses, windows broken. The town solution? Many of the neighbors started displaying Menorah and other Jewish symbols in their windows and on their doors, so the people behind the attacks couldn't tell who was/wasn't Jewish.
I don't want to start a fashion trend. But if some small percent of non-Muslim women dressed in hijab from time to time...?

I think it's a sign that they're not satisfied with mainstream American culture, which places so much emphasis on outward sexuality and getting ahead. Their covering may be a way of declaring independence from the rat race, and a desire for a quieter, more modest and reverent life, which gives importance to other things. Sometimes, these coverings oppress the women who wear them. But when a woman actively chooses to wear them in a society that doesn't expect them, it's an act of freedom.

There is nothing wrong with women wearing hijabs, there is nothing wrong with women dressing from head to toe covering every inch of their body even in extreme heat, as long as it is their choice to do so.
The problem is the parts of the world where that is a law, and if a women disobeys she is sent to jail.

I think its nice to see someone choose a religion for reasons other than that they were simply born to a Christian family. Converting is a personal choice and I have no right to question someone's right to do so.

I believe she has finally liberated herself from men and trying to dress to please them.
I think that, as long as she embraced Islam due to her love for it and not for a man, that she will hold on to it for the rest of her life and it will be more precious than gold when you're poor, or water in the desert.
I respect all women who chose to cover themselves out of obedience to their Creator and choosing to live a life of modesty and family devotion.
This woman should be respected even if she difers greatly from our own personal choices.

I am sure they do not know the truth. Does anyone really learn the religion before converting? Most times it is for "love" or money or force.
