my daughter was born deaf and about 6 months later we found out she had an unknown disease that was attacking her brain we went to all kinds of different specialist and no one could help. Soon after she would quit breathing and have to be rushed to the hospital. The did biopsy's and surgeries. They kept telling me she didn't have any known disease that they could only treat the symptoms as they appeared. We lost her on april 23rd 2004. I have continued to try and find answers but it seems once she passed away they quit trying to find out why. How do I find the answers?

Sadly, doctors don't have all the answers. You may want to contact a local teaching hospital and see if they would have any interest in investigating this case. I am so very sorry for your loss and that you haven't yet had a sense of closure. I hope you have found a support group of people who have lost young children. It's important to have someone to talk to who understands what you are feeling.

First off, my condolences, I lost my son back in Oct of 2002, but it was due to severe brain damage from Meningitis. He was only 9 months old. Did they do and Autopsy on your daughter when she passed , & if they did, what were their findings?

How horriable for you!Know that is is not gone and she loves you.You did everything you could for her.I dont know how you can find out what she had but I know it would ease your mind to know everything and not be left in the dark.Keep looking for answers,if none are to be found...then you have to let it go and remember the time you had with her.God Bless and keep you.
